Beginning in June 2023 when the Texas Commissioner of Education took over HISD, campuses have been organized by Divisions rather than by the voting districts of elected school board members. In previous iterations of data on this website, we have used the Board districts and have offered our analysis to the elected School Board members. Since the takeover, the Board of Managers are not assigned to districts. They have no direct connection to any specific schools.

On these overview tables, and the linked spreadsheets that give data by campus, we have worked to make the information clear and simple. Since the focus of this website is HISD Libraries, we make every effort to support those that still exist - and we indicate them in GREEN boxes. The new NES campus designation generally precludes library access by students; those boxes are LAVENDER. There are a few outliers: campuses for disciplinary assignment which have never been served by a library; district charter campuses which are not entirely managed by HISD and have not consistently offered library access; and a few campuses whose current library status we have been unable to confirm. These campuses are labeled OTHER.

For details by campus, please click through to the spreadsheets for each division.

Here are the totals across all of HISD.
This list of 257.5 does not include all the special campuses, only some. We were not able to determine the correct division for several.
